WINDOORS BLINDS

Authorized Norman® dealer · Chicagoland

Comfort starts at the window.

Sunlight without the glare. Privacy without the dark. A bedroom that stays cool in August and holds its warmth in January. We come to your home, room by room, and work out what each window needs — then measure, order and install it ourselves.

No charge, no obligation. We bring the samples to you.

What we install

Pick by what the room needs, not by what it's called.

Bring us the problem — glare on the TV, a bedroom that never gets dark, a bay window nobody can reach — and we'll tell you which of these solves it.

Every one of these is made to your window, to the sixteenth of an inch. We measure it — we don't build from measurements a customer takes, because a made-to-order shade cut to the wrong size can't be returned or remade for free.

Motorization

For the windows you can't reach, and the ones you're tired of.

A tall stairwell window. A bay behind the sofa. Eight windows in one room that you open every morning and close every night. Norman® makes four different systems, and they are not the same price or the same amount of work — here's how to tell which one you actually need.

Simplest

AutoWand™

A rechargeable motor built into the wand you already tilt by hand. Touch it and the shade moves. Nothing to program, no remote to lose, no hub, no wifi, no app. It charges from a cable a few times a year. If one hard-to-reach window is the whole problem, this is usually the honest answer.

Most common

Smart Motorization with a remote

A motor in the headrail and a SmartDial™ remote on the wall or in a drawer. One remote runs up to five channels plus an "all" button, so a whole room moves together or each window moves alone. No internet needed — the remote talks straight to the shades.

Full system

Smart Motorization with the ShadeAuto™ hub

Add the hub and the same motors join your wifi. The ShadeAuto™ app groups shades by room, saves positions you use often, runs them on a schedule, and answers to Alexa. This is what you want if you're setting sunrise and sunset routines, or closing the house from your phone while you're away.

Shutters only

PerfectTilt™ G4

Shutters don't lift, so motorizing them means turning the louvers. PerfectTilt™ G4 does it by remote, hub or app, with no visible hardware on the panel. It's the answer for shutters above a stairwell or behind a kitchen sink, where reaching the tilt means climbing on something.

Two things worth knowing before you decide. Motors are priced per window, but the remote or hub is bought once for the whole house — so motorizing six windows costs far less than six times one window. And a cordless shade is already safe around children and pets; motorization is about reach and convenience, not safety. We'll tell you at the consultation which windows are worth it and which ones aren't.

Price estimate

Measure roughly. We'll measure exactly.

Run a tape across each window, width first, and add it below. The more windows, the deeper the discount — 20% on one to three, 30% on four or more, 40% on eight or more. Installation is included either way.

Installation is included on every order.

How it works

Three visits, and one of them is the install.

Step 1

We come to you

We bring samples to your home so you see fabrics and finishes in your own light. We talk through each room and give you a written price before you commit to anything.

Step 2

Exact measurements, then the order

Every opening is measured to the sixteenth of an inch and made to order. Lead time is typically 2–3 weeks, confirmed when the order goes in. Because each piece is cut to your window, orders can't be changed once production starts.

Step 3

We install and clean up

Our own installers hang everything, check every tilt and lift, show you how the motors work, and take the packaging with them.

Questions

What people ask before they book.

How long does it take?

Between 3 and 12 weeks from the day the order goes in, depending on what you choose. Simpler products at the shorter end, shutters and specialty shapes at the longer end. We give you the lead time for your specific order in writing before you commit — not a range, the actual estimate for what you picked. Everything is built for your window after you order, which is why none of it is instant.

Why can't I measure the windows myself and save the visit?

You can — but the risk moves to you. Every product type is measured differently: an inside-mount shutter, an outside-mount roller and a shade on a tilting sash all need different allowances, and depth, squareness and hardware clearance all change the numbers. If we measure and the covering doesn't fit, we replace it at our cost. If you measure, decline our measurement, and it doesn't fit, the piece can't be returned or resized — it was cut for those numbers — and a replacement has to be bought again. That's the whole reason we insist on doing it.

Why does the consultation have to be at my home?

Because a fabric sample in a showroom tells you almost nothing about how it will behave in your room. The same white shade reads warm in a south-facing living room and grey in a north-facing bedroom, and a 5% openness roller that looks perfect at noon may not give you the privacy you expected after dark, when the lights are on inside. In your home we can hold the sample against your own glass at your own light, see what the window faces and what's across the street, check whether the sash tilts or the door swings, and tell you which products actually fit that opening. We also see the room — the sofa in front of the bay, the crib in the corner — which usually changes the recommendation.

What's the warranty?

Norman® covers fabrics and components with a limited lifetime warranty, motors for 5 years, and cords and lifting systems for 7 years, against defects in materials and workmanship for the original purchaser in a residential installation. It does not cover normal wear, accidental damage, color variation in natural wood, or warping from high humidity. If something fails under warranty, call us — we handle the claim with Norman rather than sending you to do it.

Can I change or cancel the order?

Only before it goes into production. Every piece is cut to your window's measurements, so once manufacturing starts it can't be resold to anyone else, returned, or remade for free. We'd rather spend an extra ten minutes at the consultation than have you commit to something you're unsure about.

What does it cost?

The calculator on this page gives an estimate, not a quote, and it is a starting point rather than a final number. It prices the covering on its own, in a standard fabric and finish, with standard controls and nothing added. Your real price moves up from there depending on what you choose: premium or specialty fabrics, blackout linings, upgraded finishes and stains, decorative tapes and valances, the type of motorization and which control system runs it, specialty shapes like arches and angle tops, and any hardware a particular window needs. Size, mount and product line all move it too. That's the whole reason we come out — once we've seen the windows and you've picked the fabrics, we put an itemized price in writing. Installation is included, and your first order takes 20%, 30% or 40% off depending on how many windows you're covering.

Do you speak Ukrainian or Russian?

Yes — the consultation, the measurements and the paperwork can all be in Ukrainian, Russian or English, whichever you prefer. Tell us in the form and we'll send someone who speaks it.

We are not selling blinds. We are finding a solution for your comfort.

Every room has its own problem — the afternoon sun, the neighbor's window, the nursery that wakes up at 5am. Tell us the problem. We'll bring the answer to your door.

Privacy

What we do with what you tell us.

The short version

Windoors Blinds LLC collects your details for one reason: to contact you about the consultation you asked for and to serve you as a customer. We don't sell your information, rent it, trade it, or hand it to anyone for their own marketing. We don't send newsletters you didn't ask for.

What we collect

Only what you type into the form: your name, phone number, email address, ZIP code, when you'd like to be called, the language you prefer, and whatever you tell us about your windows. There are no analytics, no advertising trackers and no third-party cookies on this site. The price calculator runs entirely in your browser — the windows you enter are never sent to us, and they're gone when you close the tab.

Who sees it

Windoors Blinds LLC and the people who work on your job. The form is delivered by Formspree, a form-handling service that receives the submission and passes it to our email, so it is technically processed by them in transit. Beyond that, we share your details only where we cannot avoid it: with Norman® if a warranty claim on your product requires it, and if the law compels us. That's the whole list.

How long we keep it

If you become a customer, we keep your order and measurement records for as long as the warranty on your product could be claimed — those records are what make a warranty claim possible years later. If you ask for a consultation and don't go ahead, we keep the enquiry for up to two years in case you come back, then delete it.

Having it deleted

Ask us and we'll delete it. Call (773) 299-4464 or email windoorsblinds@gmail.com and say what you want removed. We don't require a reason. If you're an existing customer, be aware that deleting your measurement records means we may no longer be able to support a future warranty claim on that order.
